Gifts of Stock
By donating your appreciated stock or securities, you avoid the capital gains tax you would owe if you sold the securities yourself. A donation of stock to Main Line Art Center may be deducted on your federal income tax return as an itemized deduction. The tax planning benefits of donating appreciated shares of stock or a fund include deducting the amount of the charitable donation AND avoiding the unrealized gains on the appreciated shares.
Main Line Art Center attains a large percentage of its raised income from private, public, and corporate foundations. Areas for which we seek foundation funding include:
- Art Education
- Accessible Art Programs for children and adults with disabilities
- Programs for senior adults
- Digital media literacy/technology
- Campus development
- Capital acquisitions
If you are associated with a foundation that supports any of these areas, we’d love to apply for consideration of funding. Please alert Development Coordinator, Pachy Banks
, at 610-525-0272 ext. 113.
Ensuring a legacy is a personal pledge of faith – a commitment to instill an appreciation for the arts for generations to come. While outright gifts of cash and stock are vital to our success, donors can also support the Art Center by making a planned gift and leaving a legacy. Please advise us
if you have included Main Line Art Center in your will so we may acknowledge you properly and assure your charitable goals will be met.
Corporate matching gifts allow you the opportunity to double or even triple your gift to Main Line Art Center! If you or your spouse work for a company with a matching gift program, please request a matching gift form from the company's personnel office and mail the completed form to the Art Center. If you participate in a workplace giving program for the United Way, the Art Center's Donor Choice number is 14859
