Main Line Art Center Honors Members with Annual Exhibition

State of the Art Center Reception: Friday, December 1, 5:30 - 7:30 PMHAVERFORD, PA (November 22, 2017) — Main Line Art Center is thrilled to celebrate the work of its talented creative community December 1, 2017 through January 3, 2018 in its award-winning galleries. This eclectic exhibition demonstrates the full artistic range of the Art Center’s Members and showcases affordable paintings, photographs, sculptures, prints, and ceramics. The 2017 Members Exhibition will open with the State of the Art Center Reception on Friday, December 1 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. Main Line Art Center’s Executive Director & Chief Curator Amie Potsic will begin the evening by recapping the Art Center’s highlights for 2017, previewing new programming to come, and recognizing prize winners selected by Paula Jackson, Owner of Beauty Art Gallery in Newtown Square, PA. Main Line Art Center will honor students, members, and donors who have been a part of the Art Center community for 10+ years, as well as new members and those working towards a certificate in the Center’s new Certificate Program. The Members Exhibition and State of the Art Center Reception are free to the public. The gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm, and Friday through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Main Line Art Center is the community’s home to discover, create, and experience visual art. The mission of Main Line Art Center is to inspire and engage people of all ages, abilities, and economic means in visual art through education, exhibitions, and experiences. Committed to increasing the visibility and accessibility of art, the Art Center presents innovative exhibitions and events in the community, including Panorama: Image-Based Art in the 21st Century, a Greater Philadelphia-wide celebration of the photographic image and digital media. Main Line Art Center’s educational offerings for all ages, abilities, and economic means span from traditional to contemporary, and are all held to the highest level of excellence. In 2015, Main Line Art Center received the Commitment to Cultural Access Award from Art-Reach for the Center’s Accessible Art Programs for children and adults with disabilities. Additionally, the Art Center grants over $10,000 in need-based scholarships annually. Last year, Main Line Art Center engaged 21,000 people through classes, exhibitions, and Summer Art Camp, and touched the lives of over 78,000 through Exhibitions in the Community and festivals across the Philadelphia area. Main Line Art Center is located at 746 Panmure Road in Haverford, behind the Wilkie Lexus dealership just off of Lancaster Avenue. The Art Center is easily accessible from public transportation and offers abundant free parking.
