Longtime Executive Director Judy Herman to Retire in August

Main Line Art Center’s Board of Directors announced that longtime Executive Director, Judy Herman, will retire in August. Judy has led the Art Center for nearly 25 years, growing it from a small art center with an operating budget of $200,000 and a staff of two to a mid-sized organization with an average operating budget of $1.3 million and a professional staff of ten.

With brightly colored scarves, hand-sculpted ceramics, and intricate baubles galore, Main Line Art Center's highly-anticipated Holiday Fine Craft Sale is returning Dec. 2–11 with a Members' Early Shopping Preview on Dec. 1 from 5-7 pm. This juried sale, sponsored by Bank of America, features an amazing assortment of handmade jewelry, unique ceramics, glass art, hand-dyed scarves, milled soaps and more, all handcrafted by 50 professional artists from the region. Main Line Art Center Announces New Board Members for Anniversary Year

Main Line Art Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Sonya Dore, Francine Stewart, Mara Schiffman, Nancy Tabas and Richard Umbrecht to the 2011/2012 Board of Directors. Additionally, the Art Center announces Board Member Heidi Vass Tirjan has been appointed Vice President. Main Line Art Center is celebrating its 75th Anniversary, and each Board Member is committed to helping advance its mission to inspire and engage artistic creativity for all ages and abilities and celebrate and strengthen the essential role of visual art in community life.

C3: Create. Connect. Collect. Exhibition & Preview Party

It’s been a year in the making, but it’s finally here! Main Line Art Center announces the opening of C3: Create. Connect. Collect. The exhibition, which runs October 2-26, 2011, will feature work by nearly 40 notable contemporary artists from our region, including work that was commissioned through this project. The exhibition will kick off with a ticketed Preview Party featuring an open bar, live music, and hors d'œuvres on October 1, from 6:30-9 pm.

Family Arts Festival 2011

Main Line Art Center is a sweet place to spend February! This month we are celebrating La Dolce Vita (the sweet life) with an exhibition and workshops centering on desserts and Valentine’s Day. The festivities begin with the There’s Always Room for Dessert exhibition – a celebration of artwork inspired by desserts. The Art Center’s gallery will be filled with unique and eye-catching artwork in all mediums that will make your mouth water. This exhibition opens with a reception on First Friday, Feb. 4 from 6-9 pm.

Ceramics Show Shines at Main Line Art Center

This March, Philadelphia is home to the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) 2010 conference, and Main Line Art Center will be bringing the excitement to the suburbs with a special exhibition entitled Main-Lining Ceramics. become print-happy as Philagrafika 2010, an international festival celebrating print in contemporary art, descends on the city. Main Line Art Center, located in Haverford, will bring the excitement to the suburbs with a special exhibition entitled In Depth: Printmaking and Photography. The juried exhibition runs February 5-March 2 and will open with a First Friday Reception on Fri., Feb. 5 from 6-9 pm.

Generous Challenge Grant Paints a Brighter Future for Main Line Art Center
