6th Annual Betsy Meyer Memorial Exhibition Date: Oct 16, 2009 - Nov 16, 2009
For the 6th year, Main Line Art Center is honored to present a juried exhibition in memory of Teaching Artist and friend, Betsy Meyer. Open to all media, this exhibition promotes the ideals of experimentation and pushing boundaries and expectation, both personal and artistic. The Art Center will present one $1000 prize to recognize a single artist who embodies the experimental spirit that Betsy encouraged in all the artists with whom she came in contact.

About the Juror: Julien Robson
Curator of Contemporary Art at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), Julien Robson relocated to Philadelphia in 2008 after eight years in Louisville, Kentucky where he was Curator of Contemporary Art at the Speed Art Museum and Adjunct Professor at the University of Louisville. A native of Scotland, Robson initially trained as an artist at Bath Academy of Art, and the Slade School of Fine Art in London before taking up curatorial positions at the University of Sussex and, subsequently, the University of Southampton, England. During the 1990s Robson lived in Austria, working in the commercial gallery sector in Vienna, and in 1998 he spent six months as Guest Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
